Piedmont Theatre Organ Society was created in 1972. A duplicate organization to our chapter status with the American Theatre Organ Society, PTOS was formed as a non-profit organization with the state of North Carolina. We enjoy a 501 (c) (3) status making all contributions tax deductible.
Our mission is to preserve, protect, and propagate Theatre Organs and their musical art form. Changing with the times, PTOS endeavors to foster new theatre organ music and uses for this King of Instruments while embracing and drawing from our historical past.
In August 2020 we are in the process of a name change to Piedmont Theatre Organ Enthusiasts (PTOE). The PTOS branding has served us well but it was felt that a less stilted name might help attract more younger folks to help carry on the mission in the coming years. See the next paragraph.
Become a volunteer. We welcome everyone who share our desire to preserve and utilize such a wonderful musical instrument. All you need is the desire to learn and be part of something unique.
